Hello! I've got 2xESXi with Openstack Mitaka installed. everything is working fine (ping/ssh to instances and they are able to access internet) except instances don't get registered with DNS service. I use dnsmasq, it's alone working fine for whole my lab (6-8 VMs). Just can't figure out how to tell Openstack and dnsmasq that they need to work together. my config: one VM working as router to external network with apache, dnsmasq; dhcp agent on controller (dnsmasq too). cinder VM, compute VM. please turn me into right direction. thank you!

Did you add --dns-namservers <DNS_SERVER> while subnet creation in neutron? Dis way you can point to your dns server. Also you can configure Dnsmaq forwarding at dhcp_agent.ini

Hi Eduardo. Thank you for your help. yes, just checked again. DNS server is in subnet definition. don't know how to attach screenshot here... instances are able to ping and connect to outside world, it's just me not able to ping them on their names, IP only

I am also getting same problem. Earlier it is used resolved instance hostname in nova-network. I am able to resolve outside servers though.
