Hi,

I want to perform scaling using the heat template, without using the auto scaling feature of heat. The confusion I have is for creating a new VM every time do I have to do a stack create? Is creating a stack same as creating a new instance? Sorry if my question sounds very basic as I have never worked with heat before. Please guide me on the same.

@fresher, if your template is used just to create a VM than indeed this is the same as launching a regular instance.

If U want scale manually - there is no need to use heat - U can simply have a shell wrapper on top of nova boot that will spawn a vm with a predefined/customized parameters.
