I implemented federation identity in kilo version and since then lot has changed. I wanted to know if there are any significant changes in implementation of federation identity for mitaka release. I saw a document which says saml2 has been deprecated as of the Mitaka release. If this is the case, how are we going to implement federation identity using SAML protocol.

The https://docs.openstack.org/releasenotes/keystone/mitaka.html (Mitaka release notes) state:

As of the Mitaka release, the auth plugin keystone.auth.plugins.saml2.Saml2 has been deprecated. It is recommended to use keystone.auth.plugins.mapped.Mapped instead. The saml2 plugin will be removed in the ‘O’ release.

SAML authentication still works within Keystone, just via a different auth plugin.
