Brand new install of mitaka following the install guide and upon verifying dashboard operation I am getting the "Something went wrong" error when tring to login as admin.

I am seeing the following entries in apache error log relating to not being able to create a session key:

restart your memcached service and delete all seesions from /tmp folder and also delete your cookies and cache from browser.

Thanks for the pointer but I am still stuck.

I restarted memcached and cleared browser cache and still login fails with same error in apache log. I did not touch anything in /tmp. I see various keystone-signing-xxxxxx directories there owned by glance, nova or neutron but they are all empty.

Found my issue!

I thought I had searched for an existing entry of SESSION_ENGINE and CACHES in local_settings.py before I added the one from the guide with the correct location.

I missed that there was an existing pointing to 127.0.0.1 so I had two conflicting entries.

After commenting out the default, restarting memcached and apache2 I can now login to the dashboard!

Sorry for the noise :)
