Accessing console from external IP

Hey everyone. I'm currently working on a bit different usage for openstack.

It requires that I am able to use the consoles by loggin into openstack via a public IP.

This is the first time I have moved openstack to a public/private IP configuration. I have tried changing the novncproxy_base_url to my public IP address, and still no luck.

What is happening when I try to access a console from Horizon is that it tries to open it from my Private IP address and can't access it from the public facing IP. Again, this requires that I can access the consoles, so any help would be appreciated. I may just be confused somewhere in the nova.conf file and configuring it wrong.

Yes your novncproxy_base_url pointed to the public IP address (all the compute nodes should point to this), and each compute node has each private IP on vncserver_proxyclient_address.

Check also the firewall (all nodes):

iptables -A INPUT -p tcp -m multiport --dports 6080 -m comment --comment "001 novncproxy incoming" -j ACCEPT
