My setup is like this: VMware workstation - 11 Networks:

  • eth0 = NAT 11.3.0.0 ( for management)
  • eth1 = hostonly 12.3.0.0 ( for private-network)
  • eth2 = NAT13.3.0.0 ( for public )

I run ubuntu server 14.04.4 LTS and I try to use devstack/stable/kilo .

My /etc/network/interfaces

# This file describes the network interfaces available on your system
# and how to activate them. For more information, see interfaces(5).

# The loopback network interface
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

# The primary network interface
auto eth0
iface eth0 inet static
    address 11.3.0.15
    netmask 255.255.255.0
    gateway 11.3.0.2
    broadcast 11.3.0.255
    dns-nameserver 8.8.8.8 8.8.4.4
    hwaddress 10:00:00:00:00:51

auto eth1
iface eth1 inet manual
     up ip link set eth1 up
     up ip link set eth1 promisc on
     down ip link set eth1 promisc off
     down ip link set eth1 down
     hwaddress 10:00:00:00:00:52

auto eth2
iface eth2 inet manual
    up ip link set eth2 up
    down ip link set eth2 down
    hwaddress 10:00:00:00:00:53

The mac addresses are just to be sure i don't have any problems. This is the part in my local.conf that has the networking part :

Q_ML2_PLUGIN_MECHANISM_DRIVERS=openvswitch
Q_ML2_TENANT_NETWORK_TYPE=flat, vlan

FIXED_NETWORK_SIZE=256
