How to configure cinder to allow volume deletion with RBD snapshots?

I've got a working ceph cluster (version 0.80.9) on Kilo that stores my volumes and I want to be able to take daily RBD snapshots for disaster recovery. However, the volumes can't be deleted if an RBD snapshot exists. Is there a way to configure cinder to recognize that the RBD snapshots taken for backup need to be deleted or purged when the volume is deleted? Is there some sort of hook that can be tied into to deal with that cleanup?
