Hi All,

I install Havana on a single host with only one Interface connected to external network The host IP is I want to be able to use FloatingIP`s from the range for instances.

My instances have a private network

However I face a few issues:

  1. The FloatingIP`s are Pingagle from the Host System but not from the outside world.

    [root@openstack log]# ping
PING ( 56(84) bytes of data.
    64 bytes from icmp_seq=1 ttl=63 time=2.55 ms
    64 bytes from icmp_seq=2 ttl=63 time=0.384 m
  2. My Instances don`t have access to the internet

    $ ping
    PING ( 56 data bytes
    --- ping statistics ---
4 packets transmitted, 0 packets received, 100% packet loss
  3. My instances privateIP`s are not pingable/accessible from tthe Host.

    [root@openstack ~(keystone_demo)]# ping
PING ( 56(84) bytes of data.
    From icmp_seq=1 Redirect Host(New nexthop:
    From icmp_seq=2 Redirect Host(New nexthop:

Here you could find all details for my config:

I really hope that someone will help me with this one as it`s kind of frustrating.

I did use the very same guide to setup this however as we see from my question the network is not working as expected. I think that this probably is a routing issue as I can`t ping which is the internal address of my Instance.
