Hello everybody,

I followed the installation guide to install Openstack:

But I am stucked at the point, where I am supposed to "create initial network":

My System is configured as the following:

Ubuntu Server with IP 192.168.1.xx and virtual bridge to 192.168.122.xx network and with Internet connection.
Ubuntu Server is running Openstack compute node with IP and with internet connection.
Ubuntu Server is running Openstack controller node with IP and with internet connection.

Now I dont know how I have to "create initial network" due to the installation guide. Can I use any random IP as NETWORK_CIDR? Do I need to chose an 192.168.122.xx IP? Do I need an 192.168.1.xx IP?

I tried either ways to launch instances with the mentioned IP´s, but I could not ping to anywhere except to localhost from my running instances in my nova-network.

Has anybody an idea???

Thanks in advance.

Delete the existing subnets and networks and you can create the initial networking using below steps:

neutron router-create router1 neutron net-create private neutron subnet-create private --name private_subnet neutron router-interface-add router1 private_subnet neutron net-create public --router:external=True neutron subnet-create public --name public_subnet --enable_dhcp=False --allocation-pool start=,end= --gateway= neutron router-gateway-set router1 public

After creating the networks run this command on eth0(public network) - iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -o eth0 -j MASQUERADE
