Hello,

Question: Can I run the keystone.pp (and subsequent necessary stuff) without messing with http/restart? See below for the gritty details.

I am installing openstack on Fedora 23. Near the end, keystone apparently needs to restart httpd and fails. I re-ran {removed, reinstalled httpd/openstack-packstack} the installation several times to figure out what was failing. Seems that the packstack install, after performing considerable re-configuration of my web server, failed to put back the "Include" directive for the modules. I was able to fix my web server after this, but packstack will consistently fail at this point, re-breaking httpd. Included is the output:

root@mattresskitten ~]# packstack --allinone Welcome to the Packstack setup utility

The installation log file is available at: /var/tmp/packstack/20160324-222832-DBctSJ/openstack-setup.log

UPDATE
Follow https://www.rdoproject.org/install/qu...
and see what is going to happen. You would get the chance to be the first person with ERROR : Error appeared during Puppet run: 10.23.62.26_keystone.pp
See http://lxer.com/module/newswire/view/... to become aware of
why I am so sure posting this feedback. CI has been passed on RHEL/CentOS 7
END UPDATE

  1. If it is LIberty , you are just wasting time. RDO Liberty is supposed to run only on CentOS/RHEL 7.X
Check repositories you have installed in /etc/yum.repos.d/
  2. If it is Kilo. See :-

Hello dbaxps,

Thank you for responding. I had hoped for a little more in-depth technical explanation, since the issue is an 'oops' and has nothing to do with the OS distro I'm using. The install is breaking httpd by leaving out a mandatory directive. This would break the install on any platform.

How much you know about packstack and how it works. See for instance :- https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/cop....

I have very little experience with packstack. Only reporting my observations. The log says install stopped because httpd failed to restart. It failed to restart because packstack replaces my httpd.conf with its own, failing to "Include /etc/httpd/conf.modules.d/*.conf" within the file. Simple...
