How to attached binary file as a userdata

Hi all,

I had usecase where I need to attached binary file as a userdata. But When I tried to attach the binary file I am getting following error,

"There was a problem parsing the script: 'ascii' codec can't decode byte 0x82 in position 1: ordinal not in range(128)"

there are a two ways to pass a binary file to cloud-init, take a look at this:

HI Davide, when i give "write_files:" in cloud config it will write a file to mentioned path in the instance which i have brought up. But my requirement is i have to upload binary file into userdata, on instance start i will do wget to ip 169.x.x.x to get that binary file.

Hi Davide "Writing out arbitrary files" is the one way to pass binary file, and what is the another way ?
