I am new to swift and am trying to add some additional middleware. So when I try to restart the swift services using 'swift-init restart all' it fails with the following error.

Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/bin/swift-proxy-server", line 10, in <module> exec(compile(open(__file__).read(), __file__, 'exec')) File "/root/swift/bin/swift-proxy-server", line 23, in <module> sys.exit(run_wsgi(conf_file, 'proxy-server', *options)) File "/root/swift/swift/common/wsgi.py", line 883, in run_wsgi error_msg = strategy.bind_ports() File "/root/swift/swift/common/wsgi.py", line 481, in bind_ports self.sock = get_socket(self.conf) File "/root/swift/swift/common/wsgi.py", line 201, in get_socket bind_addr[0], bind_addr[1], bind_timeout)) Exception: Could not bind to 127.0.0.1:8080 after trying for 30 seconds*

Here is the complete response of 'swift-init restart all': [root@xxxxxx ~]# swift-init restart all Signal container-updater pid: 56741 signal: 15 Signal container-updater pid: 56742 signal: 15 Signal container-updater pid: 56743 signal: 15 Signal container-updater pid: 56744 signal: 15 Signal account-auditor pid: 56745 signal: 15 Signal account-auditor pid: 56746 signal: 15 Signal account-auditor pid: 56747 signal: 15 Signal account-auditor pid: 56748 signal: 15 Signal object-replicator pid: 56749 signal: 15 Signal object-replicator pid: 56752 signal: 15 Signal object-replicator pid: 56753 signal: 15 Signal object-replicator pid: 56755 signal: 15 Signal container-sync pid: 56757 signal: 15 Signal container-sync pid: 56761 signal: 15 Signal container-sync pid: 56763 signal: 15 Signal container-sync pid: 56764 signal: 15 Signal container-replicator pid: 56768 signal: 15 Signal container-replicator pid: 56772 signal: 15 Signal container-replicator pid: 56775 signal: 15 Signal container-replicator pid: 56779 signal: 15 Signal object-auditor pid: 56783 signal: 15 Signal object-auditor pid: 56790 signal: 15 Signal object-auditor pid: 56798 signal: 15 Signal object-auditor pid: 56805 signal: 15 Signal object-expirer pid: 56809 signal: 15 Signal container-auditor pid: 56814 signal: 15 Signal container-auditor pid: 56820 signal: 15 Signal container-auditor pid: 56825 signal: 15 Signal container-auditor pid: 56829 signal: 15 Signal container-server pid: 56832 signal: 15 Signal container-server pid: 56834 signal: 15 Signal container-server pid: 56839 signal: 15 Signal container-server pid: 56846 signal: 15 Signal object-reconstructor pid: 56852 signal: 15 Signal object-reconstructor pid: 56862 signal: 15 Signal object-reconstructor pid: 56871 signal: 15 Signal object-reconstructor pid: 56879 signal: 15 Signal object-server pid: 56884 signal: 15 Signal object-server pid: 56890 signal: 15 Signal object-server pid: 56896 signal: 15 Signal object-server pid: 56904 signal: 15 Signal account-reaper pid: 56912 signal: 15 Signal account-reaper pid: 56922 signal: 15 Signal account-reaper pid: 56932 signal: 15 Signal account-reaper pid: 56940 signal: 15 Signal proxy-server pid: 30381 signal: 15 No proxy-server running Signal account-replicator pid: 56952 signal: 15 Signal account-replicator pid: 56958 signal: 15 Signal account-replicator pid: 56964 signal: 15 Signal account-replicator pid: 56972 signal: 15 Signal object-updater pid: 56986 signal: 15 Signal object-updater pid: 56997 signal: 15 Signal object-updater pid: 57006 signal: 15 Signal object-updater pid: 57022 signal: 15 Signal container-reconciler pid: 57030 signal: 15 Signal account-server pid: 57037 signal: 15 Signal account-server pid: 57046 signal: 15 Signal account-server pid: 57059 signal: 15 Signal account-server pid: 57068 signal: 15 container-updater ...

I suppose your are running as root, right?

Try run # lsof|grep 8080 and see if there is any stuck process holding the door (Hodor).
