Mirantis v8 Node Discovery Fails On Some Hardware

Hi

I think I just hit an old bug when installing nodes on Mirantis 8. I get these messages:

bnx2: Can't load firmware file "bnx2/bnx2-mips-09-6.2.1b.fw"

The node installs and boots fine but is never discovered. I have other nodes that discover just fine and this entire setup works well in Mirantis 7. Is there any workaround at all?

This looks like what I hit (same error message and behaviour):

https://bugs.launchpad.net/fuel/+bug/1323354 (https://bugs.launchpad.net/fuel/+bug/...)

Thanks,

This seems to fix the issue:

1.Add this line in /etc/dracut.conf: add_drivers+="bnx2" 2.Run dracut –f - to build the initramfs image 3.reboot

Node was then discovered.

Hi,

Sorry for being such a noob, but I guess the rebuilding of the initramfs is done on the slave node? What is the default root password for the slave nodes?

I figured out the login, but when I run the dracut it gives me a warning about missing firmware and after the reboot I still have no contact with the fuel server. Do I need to manually add the firmware somehow?
