Hi everyone,

For my graduation project i will install Murano applications catalog in order to add a cloud application to the catalog and provide the application's provisioning and billing to end users.

For this project i need some advices about the Murano project and how it works like : What is the most stable release for Murano ? What is the most stable and suitable openstack release for Murano ? is it Kilo or liberty ? What is the best openstack architecture for Murano ? Is there any installation issues i must know in advance ?

Thanks for helping !

Thanks Eduardo for the informations, but i can't understand should i install Openstack first ? or i can install Murano directly without installing openstack ? i know it looks like a silly question but i found that openstack liberty requires Ubuntu 14.04 as an OS but Murano requires Ubuntu Server12.4

You need a running openstack environment. You can of course install murano in another server and point to you openstack environment. Murano needs keystone, glance, nova, neutron, ...

yes, or in different machines. Or any service in any different machine. All they need is connectivity to the other services.

I'll suggest you to install liberty release, because have some improvements from kilo.

You got a guide here http://murano.readthedocs.org/en/stab...

If you don't want to use venv use this one: http://egonzalez.org/murano-in-rdo-op...

Hi eduardo, i tried to install Murano using the first link (with venv) but i got many errors and bugs and right now i'm still blocked, but can i install Murano in a RDO OpenStack environment (on centOS machine) and make it communicate with an openstack installed on ubuntu 14.04 ? is that possible ?

It would be possible but not recomended, because they ships different package versions and some different changes. Also, the idea in the second link should works in ubuntu too. Except package names installed with the package manager

ok thanks Eduardo, another question is it possible to install Murano on ubuntu 14.04 LTS and not on ubuntu 12.04 server like it's mentioned in the guide ? because ubuntu 12.04 server is little bit hard to manipulate for me !
