Documentation on Openstack distribution packages

I'm trying to figure out how packaging of Openstack works. So my question is made up of a few smaller questions.

for Fedora/Centos/RHEL:

  1. Which is the upstream repository? > 1.1 Is it https://github.com/openstack-packages ?
  2. How can I try packages from master?
  3. Rdo uses the above repository?
  4. How can I generate centos-release-openstack-mitaka?

Finally, I could find any detailed documentation page. I managed to find only: https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/Packaging (https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/Packa...) which doesn't provide much information.

An answer to any this will be very helpful!

Thanks

Hi Strigazi.

Packaging in Fedora/CentOS/RHEL is done by RDO project. You have all information related about how packaging works in RDO right here: https://www.rdoproject.org/packaging/rdo-packaging.html

Upstream repository is Delorean, some interesting info about that: http://blogs.rdoproject.org/7834/delorean-openstack-packages-from-the-future

Thanks for your answer Eduardo!

I'll add some details:

As it is mentioned in [1] the upstream dist-git repo is https://github.com/openstack-packages/project-name (https://github.com/openstack-packages...) , for example https://github.com/openstack-packages/nova (https://github.com/openstack-packages...) . (Thanks Eduardo, I asked on #rdo but seeing it documented, it really helps).

To try packages from master on Centos7, one can download [2] and its dependencies [3] in /etc/yum.repos.d/ directory.
