Hello All,

We are building OpenStack environment with local storage. All the disks will be SSD.

As you know there are hate and hate relation between hardware raid and SSD disks. (Because of trim and discard)

We are at the point to chose software raid for storage for our instances.

Do you suggest software raid (MD Raid) for our local storage? Is there any alternative solution for ssd local storage?

All comments are welcome.

I don't see a problem in using mdraid for local (ssd) storage. The alternatives would be a hardware raid controller or using the ssds without raid (depends on your philosophy; more instances vs. disk redundancy).
