Hi All

Following the openstack-install-guide for Kilo on Ubuntu 14.04 ( ( step 5 , i run -

glance image-create --name "cirros-0.3.4-x86_64" --file /tmp/images/cirros-0.3.4-x86_64-disk.img --disk-format qcow2 --container-format bare --visibility public --progress

I then get the 'usage: glance' output and the following error -

glance: error unrecognized arguments: --name cirros-0.3.4-x86_64 --disk-format qcow2 --container-format bare --visibility public

I have googled for a solution and whilst others are having the same issue, I cannot find a fix, I have been through this section of the guide multiple times but I am stuck at this point :(

please help !

having built the controller node from the ground up as per the user guide, the command now works, so the error was a typo somewhere in my configs...

Try using the openstack - cli:

openstack image create --file cirros-0.3.4-x86_64-disk.img --disk-format qcow2 \
–container-format bare --public cirros

does that work for you ? I get :

ERROR: openstack Invalid command 'image create --file

openstack --help shows four image commands

image delete
image list
images save
image show

openstack image create --file cirros-0.3.4-x86_64-disk.img --disk-format qcow2 --public cirros2

works. probably you are not using the newest version of the openstack-cli.
