Hi all! i'm newbie to OpenStack. I want to configure self-service networks with Open vSwitch. In networking guide only provider networks is documented. Please help me with the configuration. Can I use Open vSwitch with three node architecture ( controller + 2 compute ) for self-service networks? Thanks in advance.

Self service networks usually are tenant networks, when you configure neutron you'll configure tenant networks too. Also, provider networks are self service in some way. You as admin, create a provider network and clients reserve their IPs from that provider network.

@Eduardo Gonzalez Thank you very much for the prompt reply. In installation guide of liberty tenant and external networks are configured using Linux bridge. I want to use OVS. can i get some links where OVS is used for configuration in Liberty.

Hi @harshavardhan.

Here you got the configuration reference for classic networks with OVS on Liberty.

http://docs.openstack.org/liberty/networking-guide/scenario-classic-ovs.html

You can go through that page searching for other methods.

@Eduardo Gonzalez Thank You. I want to use DVR. Can i follow Kilo installation guide?

Yes, but you need to make some changes to configure DVR. I don't really know if DVR was considered stable in Kilo, although in Liberty it is. Liberty guide: http://egonzalez.org/configure-neutron-dvr-openstack-liberty/

Note that is for liberty, but it should be something similar. Is just to make an idea about how it should be configured.
