from which user are you trying to run ./stack. It should be stack user. Also check the owner of the devstack folder by ls -l command. Also make sure that owner of the folder is stack user.

I tried upgrading pip version to 9.0.1. However, on running ./stack.sh, it's showing the same error itself. When I check the pip version after running the script, the version again gets changed to older one -7.1.2.

@Sreenath Menon did you resolve the issue ? I am seeing the same issue

"The directory '/opt/stack/.cache/pip/http' or its parent directory is not owned by the current user and the cache has been disabled. Please check the permissions and owner of that directory. If executing pip with sudo, you may want sudo's -H flag. If executing pip with sudo, you may want sudo's -H flag."

How to solve the issue ? I am installing devstack in ubuntu 16.04 version linux .
