I have deployed a openstack object storage by following the juno manual. I have created a webpage and i want to upload and download files using that webpage. Can someone gice me a hint on how i am supposed to do it.

Hi, Swift interaction is through a rest api with HTTP calls (PUT/POST/GET/...) You can interact with swift with any application or language that can use HTTP calls (python, java, django)

You can see this video from Tokyo summit to have an idea:

You can see how calls to swift works using swift list or any other available swift command with --debug flag

swift --debug list

You can see interesting info about api calls at REQ: curl *****.

hey thanks a lot for replying. it really helped a lot. i had a little difficulty understanding since i am didnt know how a rest request is made.

i got the basic understanding on how to go about it, i have listed the places where i refered. -> firstly read the this and install the add given -> generate a token by sending a post request to and in body send your id and password. (just paste your keystone endpoint with a /token and select the post option) go throught this link for details -> token id is the one under expires. -> paste the id in the headers value and name it X-Auth-Token.
