I am leading efforts to install some internally developed / proprietary security tools (although not sure of all the details of the functions, but they are huge in size with multiple rpm packages) on a VM doing a VNF for IP Telephony (or rather on multiple VMs all doing multiple VNFs). So is there any performance impact of these tools on the overall performance of the VM or even impact on the dimensioning/flavor/size, etc. If so, how do i determine the impacts - any tools, technologies, and any methodologies that you would recommend. Obviously Performance Tools like Splunk, etc. are already asking for a huge additional disk storage. Any advice, recommendations, and or leads would be great. Thanks.
