Hi,

I installed Keystone (kilo), but got HTTP(500) error while tried to create a service. I telnet port 35357 and 5000 but connection was unable to establish. I rechecked my configurations but everything was on its place. Finally, I ran below commands to check apache's ports.

look inside the following logs

/etc/httpd/logs/keystone-access.log
/etc/httpd/logs/keystone-access.log

Did you restart httpd service after installing keystone?

Yes I did, but still found the same results.

This is the output from /apache2/keystone-access.log. 127.0.0.1 - - [13/Feb/2016:15:12:23 +0500] "POST /v2.0/OS-KSADM/services HTTP/1.1" 500 799 "-" "python-keystoneclient"

I am putting output of below commands, which mean that 35357 and 5000 ports are open, but why I get HTTP(500) error? I am confused.

test@test:~/Downloads/Install_Keystone$ netstat -anp |grep 35357

(Not all processes could be identified, non-owned process info will not be shown, you would have to be root to see it all.)

tcp6 0 0 :::35357 :::* LISTEN -

tcp6 0 0 127.0.1.1:35357 127.0.0.1:59913 TIME_WAIT -

test@test:~/Downloads/Install_Keystone$ netstat -anp |grep 5000

(Not all processes could be identified, non-owned process info will not be shown, you would have to be root to see it all.)

tcp6 0 0 :::5000 :::* LISTEN -

Below is the output from /var/log/apache2/keystone-access.log

127.0.0.1 - - [08/Feb/2016:22:11:50 +0500] "POST /v2.0/OS-KSADM/services HTTP/1.1" 500 799 "-" "python-ke$

127.0.0.1 - - [08/Feb/2016:22:18:53 +0500] "\xff\xed\xff\xfd\x06\xff\xf4\xff\xfd\x06\xff\xed\xff\xfd\x06\$

127.0.0.1 - - [08/Feb/2016:22:21:34 +0500] "\xff\xed\xff\xfd\x06" 500 603 "-" "-"

Note: Instead of machine's IP I am testing my installation on localhost.

no logs are found in /var/log/keystone/.. :( I am worried for what is wrong. I ran 'sudo netstat -lnp' and it showed me that apache is listening on port 35357 and 5000. I can login in mysql. On running command "openstack --debug service create --type identity keystone" it generates HTTP 500 error.

I will be grateful for any kind suggestions. Thanks

Could you please provide the output of the Apache error logs?

cheers, hauke
