I'm running liberty on Ubuntu 14.04 and just finished configuring my storage node for cinder. When I attempt to start the cinder-volume service lvm crashes. Here's the stack trace I see in the cinder.log file.

 2016-01-06 19:55:41.423 10803 INFO cinder.volume.manager [req-ad77e8b2-d5a3-4782-a959-3f6b82150f70 - - - - -] Starting volume driver LVMVolumeDriver (2.0.0)

2016-01-06 19:55:41.836 10803 TRACE cinder.openstack.common.threadgroup Traceback (most recent call last):

I'm a little confused why it's complaining it can't import the pymysql module. I've confirmed that's it's installed so not sure what the issue is here ?

I was able to fix the issue by first installing the mysql-client and then installing the pymysql module using pip

apt-get install mysql-client
pip install pymysql
