I am attempting to install devstack on my Ubuntu 14.04 VM and I am getting stuck trying to create the stack user.

root@ubuntu:/tmp# devstack/tools/create-stack-user.sh
/tmp/devstack/functions-common: line 144: conditional binary operator expected
root@ubuntu:/tmp#

Any idea why this is happening?

thanks

yeah, i believe, even these operation will be on a normal user not root. from the provided output, we can see its root user ?

I am running the same script with a non root user and I have a similar error.

[simo@localhost ~]$ devstack/tools/create-stack-user.sh ;su stack /home/simo/devstack/functions-common: line 162: conditional binary operator expected su: user stack does not exist
