For Neutron networking how do you set it to auto assign floating IP's

For neutron CLI how do you assign both the public and private at the same time.

Two identical instances

| 7aa58c13-41b7-4da9-84b6-5eddfae7fc1a | instance1 | ACTIVE | - | Running | private_network=; external_network= |

| afab6cf3-a991-423b-b5c3-26d157f57092 | instance2 | ACTIVE | - | Running | private_network=,

Instance 1 created using

nova boot --flavor m1.tiny --image 0382d068-7d37-4970-bf3e-44657662a5a2 --nic net-id=64304f40-a0c1-4ec9-8125-ca53xxxxx --nic net-id=689a3f98-5da0-491e-9d33-7961cxxxx --security-group 7c936bc0-b53e-4dee-b745-37xxxx --key-name cloud instance1

Can Ping out but not into it

Instance 2 created in GUI with private network then public associated with it. Ping and access is fine

This feature I guess is not there in neutron. I also tried to do it but I didn't see any configuration which enables the VM to also get floating IP's.

However such kind of thing can be done by using HEAT templates(HOT). By using heat you can create VM's and also assign floating IP's to VM's.

Thank you. That was my guess as well but needed to confirm I was not wrong. My Heat Stacks work well doing this. Thanks again!!
