Hi, I have a physical server with esxi 5. On top of that created 3 VM's each with Controller, Compute and Network node. My installation completed successfully what ever the flavor of openstack I deploy, be it Juno, Kilo or Liberty. Able to complete the bringing up of the instances with out any issue. Able to allocate the Private IP with DHCP and Floating IP from public network.

But all the time I am only able to access the instances only from Network node and these are not accessible from other two nodes or not even from the outside.

Now I have tested with all in one node but still facing the same issue.

Following is the configuration:

# cat /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-br-ex
DEVICE=br-ex
DEVICETYPE=ovs
TYPE=OVSBridge
ONBOOT=yes
BOOTPROTO=none

Hi,

Thank you for editing my post and replying. As I have mentioned that currently testing everything in a single node. And following is the asked output.

# ip netns
qrouter-d04b63b7-2d41-4697-a70c-701731ba655d
qdhcp-4f262873-4ae2-44f0-baf0-a65a4a753d3e

Already updated ovs-vsctl show.

unable to update the ovs-vsctl show output due to there is a character restriction while updating the comment. But had already updated this in my original post. :)

Per your report "neutron net-show private1" gives "vxlan". I don't see vxlan tunnels in ovs-vsctl show on Network Node.

Check local_ip in openvswitch_agent.ini file on Network && Compute, they seem to be wrong.

Using as comment field
You should have just one tunnel between Network && Compute

Let me delete everything and try again with three node.

But the example you have show appears to be 4 node infrastructure. In my case its a single node, Do you feel it should have a tunnel between Network && Compute, As all the three nodes are running on the same node.

Between Network VM and Compute VM should be vxlan tunnel. I posted picture for 4 VMs model setup, however you see tunnels, correct ?

When I had 3 vm setup at that I used to have tunnel for controller and compute node from network node. But from single hosts its not there as all are seating on the same hosts.

one more thing. I am not having the file named openvswitch_agent.ini in my system.

Hi Boris,

Thank you for all your help. I able to figure out the issue. In the vSwitch of the ESXi I had made no to promiscuous which now changed to yes and able to access the hosted instances.

Thank you once again for all your support and help. God Bless you.

Regards, Amar

There shouldn't be VXLAN tunnel between Controller and Compute. I am uploading picture

Thank you. Let me review my setup and will update you on this.
