In general, associated floating IPs should remain as is till a a Disassociate command is launched. Are you referring to a specific context ?

In an environment, I want to keep a floating IP as static to a machine which I will be referring in some scripts, I do not want the Floating IP to change hence the question.

Have you considered and/or is it possible, while writing your script(s), to refer to the machine with a linux hostname ?

It will not change unless requested by user. gravatar ( 2015-11-24 05:44:13 -0500 )edit

@Luigi I need to access the VM (SSH) from outside of openstack deployment hence using IP. @Ritesh thanks for confirming.
