Create a volume from image, the volume_image_metadata does not get copied?

We have an image which requires certain metadata in order to boot, like the hw_disk_bus and hw_vif_model. We can boot from this image fine.

The image has properties we set, we can clearly see them in the image-show output. But when we create a volume from this image, these properties are missing in the volume:

The property volume_image_metadata does not contain the same as the image.

This works in one of our cloud deployments, but not the other, both running Icehouse.

And apparently you cannot modify this property of the volume to include it.

Any ideas?

Modification of this property is one of the Cinder Liberty specs.

Thanks, yeah, I did see that. I just don't understand why the behavior is different in the 2 seperate clouds we have.
