How to create multiple external network in Fuel 7?

I noticed this new network-template feature from Fuel 7. I'm trying to prepare an OpenStack deployment using this feature to get 2 external networks configured. So far, documentation on the web suggests to first deploy openstack with Fuel, and after to tweak ml2 and l3 configs to enable multiple provider network support. But this:

1) requires manual operation

2) introduces a mismatch between puppet scripts and actual config

So I'm wondering:

1) if fuel 7 network templates could achieve this? if yes, how should new bridges should be created and patched in the network_scheme section?

2) what would be the most effective way to configure this if network-template is not the optimal answer?

Thank you

Question is pretty much well known hack for any kind of initial deployment

Thanks

Mike,

this is a Neutron side configuration you can only rearrange by hand after a deployment.

Short answer is: 1) NO

Currently, we use local as a network type and declare br-floating in plugin.ini. We should change the way we organize floating networks plugins at a rather lowel in Fuel architecture to achieve your desired result. In fact, if you create floating network with flat type, neutron agent will create a patchcord between floating bridge and br-int, but br-int already has a patchcord to private bridge and this situation may lead to some ethernet loop.

ok thank you. to create the 2d ext network, should I: 1) create br-ex-2 & br-floating-2 and patch them? will neutron be able to handle the traffic from then on? 2) any other suggestion?

Hi all,

I have the same issue. Launched the fuel 7.0 cluster with a quite small IP range on the external network. I now want to add another /24 subnet. Same physical hw so i dont care if it is a new vlan/physbridge or just two subnet ranges on the same vlan/physbridge. Is there anyway i can do that?
