How to remove dashboard ubuntu theme ?

asked 2015-10-17 08:53:53 -0600

Ubuntu 14.04 LTS - OpenStack Kilo,

I find difficulties removing the dashboard ubuntu theme. How can I do that ?

controller@controller:~$ sudo apt-get remove openstack-dashboard-ubuntu-theme
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
The following packages will be REMOVED:
  openstack-dashboard-ubuntu-theme
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 1 to remove and 1 not upgraded.
1 not fully installed or removed.
After this operation, 188 kB disk space will be freed.

python: can't open file 'manage.py': [Errno 2] No such file or directory
dpkg: error processing package openstack-dashboard-ubuntu-theme (--remove):
subprocess installed post-removal script returned error exit status 2
Errors were encountered while processing:
 openstack-dashboard-ubuntu-theme
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

What's the point of manage.py? Why should it be needed ? Any help would be truly appreciated.

I edited /var/lib/dpkg/info/openstack-dashboard-ubuntu-theme.postrm and removed all except the exit 0, removed the package and rebuild openstack-dashboard. All good now.

As described in official documentation, you should run apt-get remove --auto-remove openstack-dashboard-ubuntu-theme.

Hi idvoretskyi, Thanks for helping.

Trying the command present in official documentation doesn't produce any difference:

root@controller:~# apt-get remove --auto-remove openstack-dashboard-ubuntu-theme
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
The following packages will be REMOVED:
  openstack-dashboard-ubuntu-theme
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 1 to remove and 1 not upgraded.
1 not fully installed or removed.
After this operation, 188 kB disk space will be freed.

What's this manage.py about ? What should I do now ?

Please, execute the following commands and provide us with the outputs:

Found 5 "manage.py" in several paths. Other commands made no difference. Full code output: http://pastebin.com/kTGPNdTD (comment box is too short).

I'd like to point out that this problem is stil unresolved. If anybody has ever encountered this and came up with a solution, it would be nice to hear from him.
