If I stop the service of mongodb, and run any ceilometer query(suppose alarm creation) then on an average of 3 min it will through connectivity error. Can we increase this time i.e. waiting time for mongodb to up again so that we can perform our operation. please reply...

That depends on which version you're using now.

Basically, there are two options you can use: max_retries and retry_interval. For different branches, their names and groups can be different. They are defined by oslo.db (aka openstack.common.db) and by default they are 10. If you want to increase the waiting time for MongoDB backend, you can increase the value of the two.

I don't know why the average response time is 3 minutes in your environments, by default, it should be around 2 minutes I think.
