As a term project, we were assigned with the daunting task of installing Openstack on Android platform for its potential use of developing mobile cloud service.
We have already had weeks of sleepless nights doing the relevant research on Openstack and Cloud computing to no avail. Please be kind enough to enlighten us in light of this situation. Any comment will be greatly appreciated.
This has nothing to do with democracy :) You're a student and therefore you're asked to study something. From my perspective, the thing you're assigned to study don't have to be feasible necessarily nor useful for a practical sense, but they have to teach you a lesson. In this case, the lesson may well be that running OpenStack on Android is impossible :) It's up to you to find an academically-sound way of saying that.
I am wondering what would one achieve by installing openstack on android devices. Also does current android devices ship with the minimal required configuration for the 3 node arch? As for now, the packages that builds the openstack are meant for various Linux distro such as RHEL/Debian.
Are you sure the task assigned to you is to install all of OpenStack on android ?
I.e. the nova compute service and all of its siblings ? Or only the python client tools to reach an existing OpenStack server from your mobile device ? That would be far more reasonable, and probably doable also, and last but not least that may even be useful...
Could you clarify that with your teachers without risking your lives ?
