Keystone.conf unconfigured upgrading from Grizzly

Hi,

I am making some upgrading tests from Grizzly to Havana.

Reading the Upgrading procedure from RDO website http://openstack.redhat.com/Upgrading_RDO#Option_2:_Service-by-Service_Upgrade (Option 2) I made this script to install Grizzly and upgrade to havana

My problem is, when I execute keystone-manage db_sync system raises this error:

CRITICAL keystone [-] (OperationalError) (1045, "Access denied for user 'keystone'@'localhost' (using password: YES)") None None

I realized that keystone.conf file is unconfigured, I mean, all parameters are commented. My question is: What is the reason to comment all the parameters in the upgrade process?

Thank you.

This is nothing to do with this error. This error indicates that it is not able to login to db. So it is better to drop the db and move forward. If you need help do let me know for this db dropping and re-creating.

That's right dheeru, the message indicates that it is no able to login to database but, the login was incorrect because the "connection" parameter is misconfigured on keystone.conf file after the upgrading. Before upgrading kesytone.conf file was correct.

You mean to say that is working for you now and you have no problem. Is that correct ?

Yes, it is. My question is: What is the reason to comment all the parameters in the upgrade process?

oh got it. It may not be real upgrade then. It may not re-configuring or upgrading the configuration. My two cents:)

I think this question can be best answered by RDO guys. What do you say ?
