Install Sahara for Kilo

I am trying to install Sahara on OpenStack Kilo. I cannot find an "official" installation guide for Sahara on OpenStack Kilo. There were instructions for Juno but not Kilo. (

I tried following the instructions for Juno but Sahara doesn't seem to work afterwards. The data-processing tab did not show up on Dashboard and Sahara command lines give me errors of not finding the publicurl endpoint, even though I have installed the Sahara endpoints in Keystone.

The installation instructions from Sahara website seem outdated and only for dev/test purposes, not for stable operational purposes.

How are others installing Sahara on Kilo?

Ok, figured it out.

To install Sahara on Kilo, use the instructions from Juno
but with the following modifications:

1) In step 2.b, replace with:

auth_uri = http://controller:5000
auth_url = http://controller:35357
auth_plugin = password
project_domain_id = default
user_domain_id = default
project_name = service
username = sahara
password = <PASSWORD>

2) skip step 2.c

3) Before step 4, need to create the Sahara db (this is a missing step and a bug was filed:

4) replace commands in step 5 with the following commands:

openstack user create --password <PASSWORD> sahara

openstack role add --project service --user sahara admin

openstack service create --name sahara \
    --description "Sahara Data Processing" data-processing

openstack endpoint create \
    --region RegionOne \
    --publicurl http://controller:8386/v1.1/%\(tenant_id\)s \
    --adminurl http://controller:8386/v1.1/%\(tenant_id\)s \
    --internalurl http://controller:8386/v1.1/%\(tenant_id\)s \

You can try these instructions from Red Hat:

I think the steps are similar. Not sure if it is Juno...and not sure if my instructions below apply any more.

Not sure why they removed the original instructions from OpenStack's manual.

Good luck.
