Is neutron-l3-agent DVR feature expected in Openstack Liberty release ?

asked 2015-09-13 16:09:56 -0500

Been aware of https://etherpad.openstack.org/p/DVR_...
It's still not clear to me.
Regarding notice Notice 39 from https://bugs.launchpad.net/neutron/+b...
Sounds like L3 HA issues might be unrelated with DVR.

At least RDO Libery (beta) has DVR working in meantime.
See RDO Liberty (beta) DVR Deployment (Controller/Network)+Compute+Compute (ML2&OVS&VXLAN) on CentOS 7.1
Some hackery was required to bring system up :-

Create under plugins directory "openvswitch" and copy from /etc/neutron/plugins/ml2/openvswitch_agent.ini to /etc/neutron/plugins/openvswitch/ovs_neutron_plugin.ini, otherwise neutron-ovs-cleanup.service won't start on Compute node.

Well neutron DVR is working under kilo release on ubuntu 14.04! L3_agent HA is only for SNAT as i recall, but don't take my word for it because we didn't implement HA. It's too big of a headache for SNAT.

DVR router is working as expecting and they came a long way since juno. We still need a FIP on every compute node just routing tenant FIP's, but at least they are persistent across reboot now (on Juno they changed on every reboot of the compute node). So keep in mind that we will need an extra FIP on every compute node for every external network!
