Hi,

I installed and configured OpenStack on a 3-node setup following the steps in OpenStack Installation Guide for Ubuntu 14.04 kilo (August 7, 2015).

However I am unable to launch instance. I see that many people have already faced this issue. So I checked those questions and their answers, but it still didn't help me to fix my issue. Here's what I'm seeing.

root@controller:~# nova service-list

The error message I see in the Horizon dashboard is

Error: Failed to perform requested operation on instance "LML", the instance has an error status: Please try again later [Error: No valid host was found. There are not enough hosts available.].

What am I missing which is causing failure to launch an instance ?

Thank you.

Please check your nova-scheduler and nova-compute logs for more information, the "No valid host was found" error is very common and can mean a lot of different things.

I already checked my logs, searched the forum for similar issues & still didn't get any solution. I think OpenStack is still a work in progress & has a long way to go before people can trust it. Even after following the instructions verbatim in the installation guide, things don't work as advertised
