other means of VM's console access - like SDL

I do not want to use the openstack dashbord console (no vnc/spice) to access the launched VM. Can I use qemu sdl to access the vm launched by openstack?

I was wondering if we can access the compute node, and do something like, "qemu --display sdl -hda ubuntu.img -m 2048 " to do it. Will it work?

How to find the location of ubuntu.img in the compute node (now I am using devstack). Image is displayed in virt-manager, but can not find the location of the image.

Best,
