I am trying to get cinder-backup working but I have this problem. How install cinder-backup service? There is no documentation explaining this, so I suppose apt-get install cinder-backup is enought. In fact:

but the service is up and running with a configured section in cinder.conf. So I think is not enough to install cinder-backup with apt get and configure cinder.conf. Maybe the service has to get registered in keystone. Suggestion? Thanks a lot

I am having a similar problem and am getting the same error message.

As a follow on question, should cinder-backup be installed on the controller node or the block storage node(s)? Mine is showing up as a service on the controller node.

I reply by myself, I had installed on all the compute node where cinder-volume services is running.
