my floating ip is my home network which means that is also being used by other devices like the desktop etc.

so how do i reserve specific floating ips for these other physical devices or pull it out of the range given to neutron?

@smaffuli actually i want to reserve ips like 192.168.0.3 which is my laptop 192.168.0.5 which is the tablet and 192.168.0.100 which is the desktop. so the document you referenced does not mention anything about ips that i could find but did say how to configure the dhcp agent. also i do not want to block off a range of ips. i want the dhcp agent to service the 192.168.0.0/24 range but not be able to hand out the above ips coz those are reserved in the IPAM.

You may need to configure your DHCP agent according to the necessity of your network. Details on the manuals http://docs.openstack.org/admin-guide-cloud/content/ch_networking.html
