-fd option with qemu (networking issues)

asked 2015-09-01 04:22:12 -0500

I have a running instance in openstack. I am unable to ping or ssh to the instance from the host. I tried running the qemu-system- aarch64 command manually. Got same result. But when -fd parameter in the -nevdev option is replaced with the ifname parameter the vm boots fine and I am able to ping and ssh to the vm. I am doing this on arm64 machine with ubuntu installation. What is the problem? What am I doing wrong?
