I am using openstack devstack.

I need to modify nova.conf file and needs to restart all the nova services.

When I trying to restart it results in error:

$ sudo service nova-network restart
 restart: unrecognized service

Also I have followed the link: (

But it seems not working for me.

Some one help me sort out this.

Hello, usually the combination to enter linux screens is this combination Ctrl + a + " (Depends of your keyboard configuration can be another combination of letters to enter the screens). Step by step:

1- Enter to devstack screens executing ./ script at your devstack directory
2- Once inside, press Ctrl + a + "
3- You will see some services, one of them is n-net, select it and press Enter.
4- Press Ctrl + c to stop the service
5- Press up arrow ↑
6- Press enter to re run the service.
7- Exit from screens by pressing Ctrl + a + d

Paste the services you see in the screens, maybe you aren't using nova-network and have neutron, these services start by "q"

Nova services starts by "n-"

some of services were as follows: n-cpu n-cond n-crt n-sch n-novnc n-cauth n-obj n-api q-svc , q-agt,q-dhcp,q-l3,q-meta,q-lbaa

It doesn't have n-net, So if I need to restart all services starts with "n-" ?

If the status is disabled or the state is XXX, connect the compute node to the controller node manually.

nohup /usr/bin/python /usr/bin/nova-network --config-file /etc/nova/nova.conf --logfile /var/log/nova/network.log &

Also update same entry rc.local file... Please check availability to nova-network for your Openstack environment. It might be diff location /usr/bin/nova-network in your environment.
