packstack included softwares

Newbie here .. Just installed openstack packstack allinone, all went really good and have a nice web interface. I just wanted to know what applications allinone has included. For example, i do not want to install nagios.

I have deployed KVM in my work with individual linux server. And I am familiar with KVM networking. So now the question is, I have two nodes identical hardware. each has two interface. I want to configure one of these interface i.e eth1 for the openstack virtual instances as I see allinone does actually using kvm.

so how do I deploy with minimum setup for openstack

UPDATE 1

Couple of things :
>1. I deployed packstack all in one in virgin HW with centosOS - perfect.
>2. so , what is your recommendation ? i thought the compute nodes and controller are the same
    No that is not the same
  > 2.1 The virgin harware which I have now for testing is brand new and quite powerful.
  > 2.2 is it okay or good practice to have openstack and compute node in same machine ?
      That is bad practice
  > 2.3 I have physical two interface, as you say enps3s0 and enps5s0, and wanted to configure enps5s0 interface to be used by all the virtual machine that will be created via openstack dashboard.
    Wrong understanding.
    NICs enp3s0 support MGMT network , which might be external at the same time.
    NICs enp5s0 support VXLAN tunnel.
> 3. No, I did not mean to install openstack on already existing kvm (this will be my brand new setup)
> 4. I have two virgin hardware which I wanted to deploy openstack.
> 5. As for the storage (storing those VMs), i think it uses the same as KVM default location i.e /var/lib/libvirt/images ... so > I can get the SANN chunk and mount on that directly.
  No experience with SANN. If it's just NFS mount with same ext4fs or XFS shouldn't be a problem

Howto (would work for RDO Kilo on CentOS 7.1) :-
1. http://bderzhavets.blogspot.com/2014/... ( ignore Gluster 3.5.2 setup )
2. http://bderzhavets.blogspot.com/2015/... ( General concepts )
In your case Controller && Network Nodes should be deployed on one box

CONFIG_CONTROLLER_HOST=192.169.142.127
CONFIG_COMPUTE_HOSTS=192.169.142.137
CONFIG_NETWORK_HOSTS=192.169.142.127

END UPDATE

First Question

packstack --gen-answer-file  answer-custom.txt
In  answer-custom.txt set CONFIG_NAGIOS_INSTALL=n
packstack --answer-file=./answer-custom.txt

Second Question:-
http://bderzhavets.blogspot.com/2015/...

CONFIG_CONTROLLER_HOST=192.169.142.127
CONFIG_COMPUTE_HOSTS=192.169.142.137
CONFIG_NETWORK_HOSTS=192.169.142.127

Sample schema would work for real boxes with same interfaces names as well
Say eth0=enps3s0,eth1= enps5s0
Replace IPs for management network with yours IPs and set IPs for VTEPS (VXLAN tunnel endpoints).
Otherwise, see http://bderzhavets.blogspot.com/2015/...
Tune external network as you need . In case of two node deployment mgmt network may work as external.
Packstack presumes deployment on virgin HW with CentOS 7.1 installed. KVM on Compute node will be reinstalled anyway.

Thanks again dbaxps,

So what are the applications i have to install for the openstack controller with packinstall or I have to install separately ? I want to have one machine as controller and other one for node

Follow https://www.rdoproject.org/Quickstart since Step 1.

Cut answer-file from first Howto and save to answer2node.txt ( update IPs and Ehernet names )
# packstack --answer-file=./answer2node.txt

Up on completion follow first Howto until "Setup Gluster Backend for cinder in Juno"
Work with link http://bderzhavets.blogspot.com/2014/... on Kilo

CONFIG_KEYSTONE_SERVICE_NAME=httpd

You are supposed to build (Controller/Network) and (Compute) Node with single packstack run from Controller. VTEPS Ethernet interfaces enp5s0 should have IPs before you start. Say 10.0.0.2,10.0.0.3.

Thanks, Now I am understanding openstack pack install bit better.

I am trying to achieve three node environment. Controller-computenode and network node Basically install keystone,horizon, ceilometer, heat and neutron on the controller node. neutron on netowrk ndoe and rest in compute node

thanks for your answer dbaxps Couple of things : 1. I deployed packstack all in one in virgin HW with centosOS - perfect. 2. so , what is your recommendation ? i thought the compute nodes and controller are the same 2.1 The virgin harware which I have now for testing is brand new and quite powerful. 2.2 is it okay or good practice to have openstack and compute node in same machine ? 2.3 I have physical two interface, as you say enps3s0 and enps5s0, and wanted to configure enps5s0 interface to be used by all the virtual machine that will be created via openstack dashboard. 3. No, I did not mean to install openstack on already existing kvm (this will be my brand new setup) 4. I have two virgin hardware which I wanted to deploy openstack. 5. As for the storage (storing those VMs), i think it uses the same as KVM default location i.e /var/lib/libvirt/images ... so I can get the SANN chunk and mount on that directly.

Any guidance would be great on it.
