We are recently deploying the devstack on physical server.

-- We are interested in how Ironic can get the corresponding physical switch id and physical port id to which the bare-metal server is connected.

-- How the physical switch id and physical port id information is transmitted to the drivers (under ML2) in Neutron for configuring the corresponding switch and port.

-- After deployed the ironic project on a Compute Node, what configuration should we take to setup the bare-metal hypervisor. Can we setup the bare-metal hypervisor and virtual hypervisor on the same compute node ??? Cause we are using the devstack for deployment.

Does anyone have some experiences on bare-metal server virtualization ? Any advices or opinions will be appreciated. thank you !!!!!!

I think this page would be helpful: (

the Ironic Neutron Interagation feature is under development in the release liberty. currently, ironic only support flat network and could not provide isolation.
