Trying to get Vagrant Devstack up and running, but Cinder is crashing out. Not sure how/where to start troubleshooting this.

for important debugging info, I suggest putting them in the question so it's easier to understand what's wrong. Yours is even short, so just edit the question and put the content of the paste here, make it easy for responders.

You're getting a timeout

First thing, check the above resolves

ping -c 4 Second thing, check nothing is already listening there

netstat -anp | grep 8776 If the above do no unearth anything, then share you cinder log (should be in /var/log

It looks like the service isn't starting. ins't allowing ping. I configured the vagrant plugin modifying /etc/hosts.

vagrant-hostmanager-start id:

I didn't see the cinder logs in /var/log/

Just looked at the compute node and it appears that vagrant is pushing this config to the compute node: vagrant-hostmanager-start

Which is causing the connection from the compute => manager to fail out

I am having the same issue, installing vargant-hostmanager didn't work. Any more suggestions ?

I ran into the same issue. The problem is that it can not resolve "" to an IP adress and therefore the communication between compute and manager fails.

The most simple way to solve this is by installing the hostmanager plugin for vagrant.

vagrant plugin install vagrant-hostmanager

This is also mentioned in the, but I overlooked it myself.

If the used hostnames in the config.yaml file (variable hostname_manager and hostname_compute) are not resolvable you have to install the vagrant-hostmanager plugin (vagrant plugin install vagrant-hostmanager).
