Hello,

I am trying to create a ceilometer-combination-alarm using ceilometer API, I can create ceilometer-threshold-alarm using this api call

ceilometerclient.alarms.create(name = "XYZ",...)

is there a way to create combination alarm using ceilometer API ?

The same call cc.alarms.create(**fields) is used to create the ceilometer-combination-alarm. I am not sure is that your question? or you are looking for some other API to create the combination alarm?

Hey Ram, can you just give me an example like the one I have given above. because if we make the same call, how is ceilometer client able to differentiate between the two ??

Actually, parameters we pass to the function makes the difference between the threshold-alarm and combination-alarm. In case of combination alarm, we need to provide the minimum of two alarm_ids and these alarm_ids parameter is indication to create combination alarm.

Also, note that alarm_ids parameter is not there in threshold-alarm creation. You can see usage the example at the link: http://docs.openstack.org/admin-guide-cloud/content/section_telemetry-alarm-usage-creation.html (http://docs.openstack.org/admin-guide...)
