How to set root password on instance creation

Hi Guys,

i'm running on Kilo now. would like to know, how can i set root password on instance creation. i notice there is a post creation tab under instance creation workflow. i try to add below script but it's not working. can give some advise.

#cloud-config
user:root
password:abc123
chpasswd:{expire: False}
ssh_pwauth:True
edit retag flag offensive close merge delete

Hey,

Use the nova CLI command to launch an instance named and provide the filename of the customization script with the “–user-data” argument.

nova boot --flavor m1.medium --image "Ubuntu" --key-name xys --user-data=cloudinit.sh instance_name
