cinder:455 c-api did not start

Hi All,

In Devstack, when running ./stack.sh getting error as

  • die 455 'c-api did not start'
  • local exitcode=0
  • set +o xtrace [Call Trace] ./stack.sh:1253:start_cinder /home/pandy/devstack/lib/cinder:455:die [ERROR] /home/pandy/devstack/lib/cinder:455 c-api did not start Error on exit World dumping... see /opt/stack/logs/worlddump-2015-08-04-214741.txt for details

May i know how to fix it

Hi, This is an often repeating issue during devstack. One Possible workaround is unstack and reboot then run stack.sh Also ensure you are running stack.sh as sudo user (not a root user) and using the sudo user password for all services during devstack.

Please include more of the devstack output when it was trying to start c-api. The current information is not sufficient to determine the problem.

Hi,

I have come up with the same issue. I am doing the installation for liberty release.

Any leads to help here.

I understand I am replying to a very old thread, but just wanted to update answer so as to help others facing the same issue. I've encountered the same error while installing devstack on Ubuntu 16.04 on virtualbox. I have resolved this by allocating 5.5GB of RAM from the previous 4GB and it went past this point.
