How to implement network virtualisation on ESX

Hi there,

we are following a single hypervisor strategy (VMWare) and are in the process of setting up an internal OpenStack cloud. It seems though that the options for providing network provisioning automation and network virtualisation (using neutron) with OpenStack on ESX are quite limited (as opposed to using KVM and going down the neutron/ML2 route).

The only real open source option which doesn't require the purchase of a native SDN solution (e.g. NSX) seems to be OVSvApp. Are there any other options, and are there specific pro's and con's related to OVSvApp that one should be aware of ?

thx in advance, Nick
