What kind of KVM-related information did you expect in the dashboard?

Sandy.. What are trying to achieve ? What you would like to see on dashboard and any reason or thought process. It is better to give these details to get right answer for you question.

just install nova-compute or nova-compute-kvm if you installed nova-compute-qemu. the nova-compute have the both of them. Make sure your hardware supports kvm and finally add to file nova-compute.conf the parameter libvirt_type=kvm

if you want to check if the system uses kvm open top tool you will see the process qemu-kvm running when an instance is running
