Hi all,

We are running VM guest on OpenStack. I would like to know whether Openvswitch supports SSM (Source-specific multicast: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Source-specific_multicast ). From our experiment, the VM guest receives all multicast traffic no matter the source address of traffic matching the source address specified in join request (sent from VM guest) or not.

Regards, Taurus

OpenVSwitch is as the name implies a l2-switch, albeit controlled via openflow. To the best of my knowledge, the filtering performed to implement SSM, would be done a router, not OpenVSwitch.
